What better way to spend the last few hours of 2025 than asking everyone I know to give away their money?


Four years ago I did a little fundraiser involving some cheesy pictures of myself. It was fun, and I always meant to do it again but wasn’t sure how to approach it. This year as I was scrambling to find time to make a Christmas card1 it struck me – let’s do a cheesy photo editing contest! So I’m uploading this year’s photo along with some outtakes here, and you are hereby invited to use any of them to produce an even cheesier picture than this one:

Or, if you’d rather do one of yourself, go for it! You’re free to use any traditional photo manipulation tools you’d like, but no generative AI, please. Submit your creation with the form below. All submissions will be shared at the conclusion of the submission period, which ends on my birthday, January 18th.

Along with your submission, you are encouraged to share the name and website of a charity of your choosing. If you’re able, make or pledge a donation to that charity and if you’re willing share the amount with your submission we’ll keep a total like we did back in 2021. Feel free to donate without participating in the photo contest, too! Note that your donation will not impact judging – which will be done by myself and my family with such criteria as “unhinged,” “absurdity,” and “mouthfeel,” and I will donate $100 to the charity selected by the winning submission. TL;DR – use any of the cheesy pictures above or cheesy pictures of yourself to make a different cheesy picture (without AI) and submit it with the name of a charity below and maybe I’ll like it best and donate $100 to the charity you chose but you can also donate yourself now and if you do you can tell me about it if you want to (no worries if not).
